Hunter Leveling Guide

For many players, Hunters are easily the fastest character to level because of its virtually zero down time and the DPS and tanking contribution of its pet. In fact, one of the fastest leveling players Joana has set the World (WOW) leveling record from 1-60 in around 4 days.

Battleground PVP Success

That%26#8217;s me in second place in Alterac Valley with 26 kills and just one death, after using this PVP guide which detailed offensive and defensive class specific tactics. I practically just melted everyone with my lightning bolts and chain lightnings. Most of my kills are in 1v1 action by the way. Click here to check out the PVP guide.

Take note that for a Hunter, the different specs are all viable for leveling

With that let%26#8217;s take a look at the specs for Hunter leveling until you reach level 40:

Marksmanship Hunter

Marksmanship talent spec is considered to be one of the best specs for maximizing your DPS. You%26#8217;ll maximize your ranged damage to the hilt when you spec as a Marksmanship hunter. However, due to the relatively higher DPS you%26#8217;ll have trouble keeping the Aggro off of you. You%26#8217;re pet will have a hard time %26#8220;tanking%26#8221; because you%26#8217;ll be generating so much threat along with your higher DPS.

Beast Mastery Spec

Beast Mastery, overall, is considered to be the best talent spec for leveling your Hunter for three reasons: i) significantly reduced downtime, ii) high DPS, iii) efficient Mana

The combination of these two will allow you to pick your enemies apart one by one without stopping to drink or eat. Your pet will do the tanking while you deal high DPS while using a significantly lower amount of mana. In choosing a pet, make sure to pick one that is a high DPS pet. Choose raptors, cats, etc. DO NOT pick a tanking pet! It will only slow you down and besides there are talents in the Beast Mastery tree which will improve your pets armor and health.

Fill out these talents first to improve your pets tanking ability:

Endurance Training 5/5

Thick Hide 3/3

Improved Revive Pet 2/2

Bestial Swiftness 1/1

Continuing down the line you can opt to switch to marksmanship at this point but believe me you will have an easier time leveling your hunter if your pet will do most of the damage. So continue down the line and your talent tree should look like this at level 40:
