Warlock Leveling Guide

Warlocks are one of the most powerful spellcasters in the game. In fact, most people say that you do not need to l2p (short for learn to play) if you%26#8217;re using a Warlock. Yes, they%26#8217;re that powerful and the fact that it does not take as much skill to use as other classes just indicates how much of a power house they are under very experienced players.

Dominate the Battlegrounds

That%26#8217;s me in second place in Alterac Valley with 26 kills and just one death, after using this PVP guide which detailed offensive and defensive class specific tactics. I practically just melted everyone with my lightning bolts and chain lightnings. Most of my kills are in 1v1 action by the way. Click here to check out the PVP guide.

Based on a lot of players%26#8217; experiences, Affliction is the best leveling talent spec for a Warlock. Some people claim though that Demonology is the best; owing to the fact that it strengthens your VW and therefore reduces your down time. However it is a well known fact that Demonology DPS will not be higher than Affliction until level 50. Even at the level (50-60), Demonology DPS will rely heavily on what gear you%26#8217;re wearing. The Destruction Locks often brag about killing single targets faster than everyone else; however, with this build, you will have to DRINK a lot %26#8212; increasing your downtime.

With that said let%26#8217;s go back to the Affliction Build:

After this you can start getting points from the other trees. I really prefer putting some talents in Destruction to get Bane to increase my PVE DPS (for instance runs).

Stats to Focus on

For budding Warlocks, this is very simple. DO NOT FOCUS ON: i) Spirit and ii) Intellect. DO FOCUS ON: i) +Shadow dmg gear, ii) +Spell damage, and iii) Stamina

That%26#8217;s it. Pretty simple eh?



Tip: Drain Tanking

I%26#8217;m sure most Warlocks know this already as this is a popular technique for most of a Warlock%26#8217;s leveling career.

All you have to do is this:

1. Locate mob


2. Immolate/UA/Shadow Bolt


3. Apply instant DoT%26#8217;s (Damage over time spells)


4. Drain Tank


5. Dark Pact as you move on to the next target
