When I watched the trailer, however, I was pleasantly proven wrong. It's very short, so don't go looking for Shakespearean epic here. The trailer opens with shots of Northrend, with ponderous, thoughtful music haunting in the background. An orc climbs an ice slope, looking over the scenery. A voiceover regrets sins made in the past, and then closes with hope that this new place could be different from what's come before.
This is going to be a PvP video? Okay, I'm sold -I can't wait to see it. If this trailer is indicative of what the full video will be like, I think Gazzamah could really do something special in terms of that limited genre. Actual story in my PvP? I'm all for it!Machinima based on PvP can be tricky. It's very easy to fall into the trap of just stringing together huge crit numbers, ultimate pwnage, and a Linkin Park soundtrack. So, when I first read the summary text for Gazzamah's Crestfallen III trailer, I wasn't expecting much. It's a teaser for an upcoming PvP video. "What's this going to be?" I thought. "Only one or two big crit numbers?" And it's a trailer, after all. Too often, trailers promise a beautiful movie that will ultimately never get made.

It was made using private server technology, and contains heavy spoilers. You've been warned.
However there are areas which are vibrant and high quality. Parts of the place resemble (as expected) the ancient gods look to it. The place could (and will) be sitting right next to the Halls of Lightning.When you watch the video you'll notice that much of it is incomplete. Large areas are nothing more than gray swaths with no content in them. This is intentional and normal – the areas just are not developed yet.
Flekz for PvP 5 in wotlk | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
First, the entire movie is basically framed as if it were a comic book. I like when PvP movie-makers take a little extra time to try and present the action in a new and interesting way. Insane Gouge Crits did something similar a few weeks ago, and I'm definitely interested to see where this trend will go. Dialogue in speech bubbles, framed shots, and even the opening magazine cover reinforce the 4-color world of Fleks.
Second, Flekz puts effort into being playful with the movie. Odd cuts and angles frame scenes in a jaunty kind of way. (Do I lose points for using the word %26#8216;jaunty'?) It refers to Flekz as %26#8216;our hero,' reminiscent of other web-slinging comic books that play with 4th wall awareness. PvP movies aren't the normal trade of WoW Moviewatch, but we do occasionally see PvP movies that we want to mention. It's good to be aware of the variety out there, and maybe each genre can learn a little something from one another. Flekz from Eredar (EU) created Fleks Fire PvP 5 as a movie mostly about, you got it, his fire mage doing stuff in PvP. But there' are a few things in this that I want to point out as being special and interesting.

The Oracles have some nice stuff for hunters, the least of which is a pretty trinket, the Oracle Talisman of Ablution. But there's more to the Oralces than loot and a cool hipster named Lafoo. (Don't mention Moodle to us; he's a cad and very ungentlemanly.)
This holiday season with Go Turbo Go | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
Irdeen relates on Myndflame that this was his first effort at creating music, so the results are even that more impressive. Also, the pet skunk seems to be showing up a lot this year, which is interesting from a meta-analysis standpoint. Kind of makes me wonder what next years machinima star is going to be -so far, it's the skunk this year.You may remember when Irdeen was first reported on WoW Moviewatch about five months ago, featured with his opening machinima The Little Gnome. As feel good and uplifting as that piece was, Irdeen's back for this holiday season with Go Turbo Go. I think it is just as endearing as the first.
The story is about the same main character from "The Little Gnome." Notably, Irdeen created the soundtrack, in its entirety, for this piece. That's a pretty nice factiod, since I found the audio to be appropriate and satisfying.
The Craft of War: BLIND | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
Percula does say that he's thankful for both the positive feedback and constructive criticism he's seen since the release of BLIND. Although, as you might expect, he's having trouble keeping up with sheer volume of emails.It's heartening to see a newcomer to the machinima scene make such a big breakthrough.If you didn't catch the Craft of War: BLIND when we featured it on Friday, now's a good time to check it out above. the real news is that Percula, the creator and animator of the movie, has issued a little more information about who he is, and where he comes from.
According to Percula, the future of BLIND is somewhat uncertain. This is because he did work for a game studio, but was laid off a few months ago. The high praise he's received makes it more likely that he's going to do a sequel, probably called something along the lines of Execute or Counterspell.
BLIND in Craft of War | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
There's no dialogue, but BLIND didn't need it. You can imagine a storyline, filling in the holes from the tropes and memes as you watch an expert assassin working her way through Stormwind. This is some of the best action footage I've seen from WoW graphics. The movements are believable and complex, the fights are well paced. Percula says if the response is postiive enough, he'll follow-up with more. I can't imagine anything but postive response to this movie. Even the soundtrack was spot-on, expertly pacing the aerobatics and ninja skills.
Percula posted The Craft of War: BLIND on Vimeo, claiming that it's only the second creative work he's ever publically shared. I can't imagine what reams of work he must have privately, because I found this movie to be incredibly astounding.

The first half of the movie is filled with great Christmas cheer. The last half is filled with great Christmas adventure. These are the kind of cute hijinks I can't wait to show my nephews and nieces, much to the consternation of my brothers. It's a good movie to revel in the Christmas season, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. This will be a fun add to festive movies to haul out on Christmas day each year.everyone's having fun with the presents brought by Grandfather Winter this morning. Today's Moviewatch is X-Cross's submission to the Wegame.com Christmas contest, called Kippos X-Mas. A gnome named Tinkle invites friends to visit to celebrate Christmas morning. But, like all good Christmas stories, there's a problem to be overcome.
A Neon Genesis Evangelion spoof from Baka Savant | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
I know we have a number of fans of this series in our readership, but I have to admit, it's not exactly my favorite. The series manages to pull a few grins out of me now and then, but it's pretty much the definition of hit or miss. I laughed quite a bit at episode 30, but this one didn't really do it for me, for example.
The episodes (and the cast/actors) seem to jive best when they're breaking the fourth wall, pulling in a little bit of a random tilt to the dialogue. This episode has some of it, but it focuses much more on an attempt at a dramatic conclusion. I lol'd, but only a little.A couple of weeks ago, WoW Moviewatch highlighted a Neon Genesis Evangelion spoof from Baka Savant, the makers of Chronicle of the Annoying Quest. This past weekend marked the release of the Season Finale of CotAQ, the episode for which that opening was intended, which you can view above.
Capable of love in wotlk | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
I wasn't sure at first how I would feel about the animation style. Ultimately, I'm glad I took the risk. While I wouldn't want to see this animation style become a mainstay of production, I think it works very well for a one-off music video. The images provide a sort of artistic feel, and coupled with the kind of angsty lyrics to the song, gives the whole piece an overall funky kind of groove. Everything's fun to look at, and it has a kind of awesome, silly feel to it.
The Spiritwolf
created Apparently not capable of love a while ago for a Machinima.com contest. The movie was created by capturing still images from Model Viewer. Then, Spiritwolf animated the images in Flash. Add music from an unknown artist, and this music video is created. Spiritwolf warns in his Myndflame page that this video isn't premiere resolution, but I actually didn't find the quality bothersome at all.
The Christmas in Northrend | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
Submit a holiday video featuring Northrend by December 20th to Machinima.com and you could be a winner! The video that Moo posted is, of course, well put together and has a simplistic version of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" playing in the background. Gnomes are represented too, so all you gnome lovers out there should be happy.

Spirit Beast in wotlk | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
The Spirit Beast is an exotic Ferocity pet. Only those hunters with the Beast Mastery talent can tame him. His special attack is Spirit Strike. It does immediate damage and then a delayed explosion of damage.There was the day we beat Lady Vashj for the first time, pre-nerf. In our jubilation, we totally high-fived a lamp to its destruction, and thus Mrs. BRK finally got rid of, "that hideous piece of junk".
Where does the Spirit Beast spawn? There are many "rumors" of known locations, but the places we can confirm he spawns -screenshots FTW -are shown on the map below. In the movie we say "two", but of course someone emailed us a pic of a third location -the northern one -after we finished the movie. We found our Spirit Beast at 21.7, 70.1, which is the most western spawn point.
Mania, the goddess of Petopia, has a link to a map of spawn locations, but we haven't seen screenshots of the other two points on their map. Those may be good points, we just can't /BRK-Stamp them.
There are other rare pets in the game, but we are not aware of any that have such a long spawn timer, can spawn in multiple locations, and can only be used by those hunters choosing to go at least fifty-one points deep into the Beast Mastery tree. Taming a Spirit Beast is a tremendous challenge, one we're thrilled to have been lucky enough to have completed.

The proper name of our Spirit Beast is Loque'nahak. He is the mate of the chained god Har'koa in Zul'Drak. (In the movie we call Spirit Beast a "her", as we assumed Har'koa being a "god" was a male. /fail.) He is a rare elite, and unfortunately any class who kills her gets the Northern Exposure achievement.
Dear lesser classes, please don't kill him, we hunters are begging you. Killing Loq makes us cry.
Polystyrene Dream by Yume | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
I could probably drive myself crazy projecting motivations on the two central characters or cheap wow gold, and trying define relationships, reasoning, and results of their actions. In summary, two blood elves repetitively walk up to an increasing variety of critters, stab them, and take their stuff. It could just be meant to be pretty, and it definitively is pretty.
I don't have much to say about the audio track, since it is essentially a nice song by a widely known band. It's possible that if I knew the song or band better, I might see more relevance in the imagery. Still, if you're talking about "Fake Plastic Trees," I guess it's fair to use a pair of Blood Elves as protagonists.
I don't usually do a lot of WoW music videos, because I tend to be more of a story-buff. But Polystyrene Dream by Yume caught my attention. I'm not sure if it was the ethereal quality of the video, which lined up very well with "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead, or maybe the hints of narrative that persisted through the piece.

Bugged quests can be loads of fun, especially when hunter-pets are involved. We once captured a screenshot of Baby Rhino flying by himself, but this time we were able to make an entire movie of our pet doing stuff he really shouldn't.

The battles against the Scourge | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
You can see the Orgrimmar version above, and the Stormwind version past the cut below. Neither video does the chaos of the event justice, but no video ever will. It's something you need to be there for, I think. No video gives you the "holy crap, did that just happen!?" feel of Varian Wrynn leaping through the air and tearing an abomination asunder. The fight between Thrall and Garrosh is ridiculously cool, too.
I highly recommend trying to see these events before they go away, but these videos will do for now, and our thanks go out to Chrono of Silvermoon-EU and Ben H. for them.The battles against the Scourge in Stormwind and Orgrimmar continue to rage (once every 20 minutes), but if you're not in a position where you can see the event firsthand, some fantastic readers have contributed some videos for us, and for all of you.
WoW Movie for The Orchard | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
The story itself has a great ending. The morality of Margaret isn't called into question, except by what you might draw on from horror tropes. In fact, the cruel coincidence of what the narrator happens across probably makes for the most horrific part of the story. If he hadn't chosen this night, if he hadn't happened to be around, things might have turned out differently for him. I particularly enjoyed this graying of events, since it makes everything plausible without particularly maligning anyone, or relying on tired cliches of motivation.
This time, Lafawnduh's looking at the strange story of Old Margaret, whose mysterious apple pies have won the Brewfest's Southshore Apple Pie contest for years. A frustrated farmer is at his wit's end and tired of losing to Old Margaret. He chooses to sneak into her barn one night to discover the secret.
The Orchard is categorized as "Horror," but you don't need to be told that. Within a few second of the video, the mood, music, and first-person perspective tells you what kind of story you're about to witness. The perspective carries the horror theme very well, with a disjointed sense of what the character's witnessing.

There's plenty of cries of "nerf please!" when people see what happens here, but how often are you going to run across a situation like this? Fifty Alliance tightly packed in a little elevator unable to see what's above them? I think there are three locations like this in all of WoW. Assaulting Thunder Bluff may suck when the Horde knows you're there, but it's not that big of a deal overall. Hilarious when it happens, but it won't happen often.
n smaller scale situations like a one on one or a one on two... well, don't get between the Shaman/Mage and the cliff, and you'll be fine, eh?We've been hating on knockbacks a little bit, but after seeing the video above (from Hellfire-EU if I'm not mistaken) I have to admit they can cause some hilarious situations. This video has certainly been making the rounds- quite a few people wrote in about it, and it appeared in the comments section of our Breakfast Topic the other day.
WoW Movie a Supervillain | Wow Power Leveling and Powerleveling from China
For some reason, I also find myself fascinated with the way Gnomechewer blends the pulp medieval setting of Warcraft with modern day technology and communications. Warcraft has always had some element of technology which I've adored, but that level of modern technology isn't something I would enjoy in WoW itself. In this format, though, it's very intriguing. Another good example of this is his machinima Back In Your Head, which displays the effects of media and social networking on Jaina Proudmoore and Kael'thas Sunstrider's hypothetical celebrity relationship.
The end of this particular video is a bit grim and a bit abrupt, which Gnomechewer said was a result of running out of HD space, but I still found the ending neat. Abrupt, but neat. It felt like enough of a twist that it wasn't too bad, but I find myself wishing heGnomechewer remains one of my favorite machinimators by far, and his most recent work doesn't dull those feelings at all. Homesick: The Making of a Supervillain (which you can also see on Vimeo) continues Gnomechewer's history of blending game footage (not just WoW, you see a bit of Garry's Mod as well) with music that absolutely fits the tone. It helps that my musical tastes are pretty similar to his, admittedly. Not everyone will see his choices the same way I do, for sure.
